PRICE OF POTATOES
AN INVESTIGATION SOUGHT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. An investigation to determine if the present price of potatoes was in any way due to excessive middleman’s profit or to speculation was requested by Dr. .McMillan (Government. Dunedin West), in notice of a question in the House of Representatives yesterday. Dr. McMillan intends to ask the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr Sullivan, if he will inquire if it is possible to obtain a reduction in the price of this commodity.
