TRUST TRIBUTE
LATE MR C. E. DANIELL. INSPIRATION TO YOUNGER MEN. Moving a vote of condolence with Mr H. H. Daniell, a member of the Trust, in the loss of his father, Mr H. P. Hugo, chairman of the Trust Lands Trust, at last night’s meeting, said there was no question about the great amount of work the late Mr Daniell had done for education in Masterton. The 30 years he had served on the Trust had been devoted practically entirely to the educational side of its activities. Master - ton, said Mr Hugo, had lost a very strong man in Mr Daniell. Not only had he given his time to the Trust, but he had also served on various other bodies, including a period as chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board, which was a very strenuous job in those days. His public services were an inspiration to some of the younger men, to take a leaf out of Mr Daniell's book.' Although, Mr Hugo said, they might not have always agreed with Mr Daniell, he was always looking* forward for something more to do for the betterment of the town. Not many men could show a better record of work than Mr Daniell.
Mr Hugo’s motion was carried in silence, all members standing.
