WAIRARAPA CIUB’S ANNUAL

meeting.

PRESENTATION OF CINE FILMS

The eighth annual meeting of the Wairarapa Tramping Club was held last night in the office of Messrs Dunderdale and Gray. Mr J. A. Wellspresided over a good attendance ol members. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs C. Torr. Messrs C. A. Clemment, J. Beresford and E. Wilson.

The annual report and balance sheet were adopted on the motion of Mr L F. Gray, seconded by Mr J. A. Wells. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President. Mr J. A. Wells; vice-presidents, Messrs R. Russell. L. Pearson, F. W. West; hon secretary and treasurer. Miss V. McKenzie; chief guide, Mr B. lorns; committee, Messr: L. F. Gray, B. Gillies. G. C. Gaze. Mesdames C. Torr. Wilkinson and L. F. Gray; hon auditor. Mr D. B. Curry.

It was decided to write to Mr Curry thanking him for his past services as auditor.

It was decided to send a letter of sympathy to Mrs Calcy in her recon! bereavement, and also a letter regret ling her departure from the district.

The secretary was instructed to writi to various clubs thanking them lor having forwarded bulletins. The following new members were elected: Mr M. Small and Miss E. Moreland.

Mr R. Russell addressed the meeting on Search Committee matters and the necessity for co-operation in the case of an emergency. He also offered the Club the use of his truck for transport purposes and his bach at Castlepoint for a weekend.

Mr Wells thanked Mr Russell for his address and for the offer of the use ol his truck and bach.

Mr N. Jenkins showed films of Mi Holdsworth. Castlepoint and Paekaka riki and also presented a 15 minut' record of the ascent of Mt Everest. He was accorded a vote of thanks.

The meeting concluded with the serving of supper.
