MAGISTRATE’S COURT

SITTING IN MASTERTON. UNLAWFUL CUTTING IN STATE FOREST. The fortnightly sitting of the Masterton Court was held today before Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M. Leslie Wall charged with having cu! and removed without lawful authority, from a State Forest, 50 punga fern stems, pleaded guilty and was fined £1 and 10s costs. Charged with having ridden a bi- ■ cycle during the hours of darkness without a lamp. Phyllis Jansen was ordered to pay costs. On further charges of operating a bicycle without a bell and red reflector she was fined 10s and 10s costs. For cycling without a light Alex Morris was convicted and discharged. On a further charge of having no red reflector on his bicycle Morris was fined 10s and 10s costs. L. R. Jones and N. Ryder, charged with having operated unlicensed radio sets were each fined 10s and 10s costs. For having driven- without a driver’s license, Arthur Fellows Huggins was fined 10s and 10s costs. Martin Smith charged with a similar offence was fined 10s and costs in <’ For having failed to carry a warrant of fitness Amos William Sealey was fined Ills and 10 costs. On a similar charge Alister Matheson was fined 10s ■ and 10s costs.

The following cases were brought by the borough inspector, Mr J. Gregor:--G. G. Cooper, who was charged with having driven a car without due care and attention in Dixon Street, Master ton. was fined £2 and 16s costs. For having driven a motor vehicle without a drivers’ license 11. J. Ranson was fined 10s and 10s costs. V. V. Daysh charged with, having failed to carry a warrant of fitness was fined 10s and 12~ costs. On a similar charge H. C. Hill was fined 10s and Ils costs.
