annual Conference OPENED MR HAMILTON’S LEADERSHIP PRAISED. ASSURANCES OF SOLID SUPPORT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Unstinted tributes to the Hon Adam Hamilton as leader of the National Party were paid during its annual conference which opened in Wellington yesterday. Representative speakers from the Parliamentary section and others ‘from various divisions in the party organisation participated. A motion, confirming loyalty to Mr Hamilton and confidence in him as leader, was carried unanimously, and the ovation and musical honours by which it was greeted were an unmistakable demonstration of the affection and high regard in which he was held. The speakers referred to his honesty of purpose, high character, inspiration to team, work, and his own first-class qualifications for the high position he held. It was claimed, that in Mr Hamilton would be found the man of the hour who, by fearless and sound leadership, would be capable of representing all sections of New Zealand, in taking New Zealand from a time of crisis and chaos to sound government for all.
