RACING CAREER ENDED

WILD CASE FOR STUD. The racing career of Wild Chase is at an end. ’He will be sent this week to his birthplace, the Stonyhurst Stud, where he will take up stud duty in the spring. He is a five-year-old by Paper Money from Wild Hind, a descendant of the famous Madowla family, and his pedigree includes many of the best Stonyhurst lines. He was a good racehorse, a brilliant two-year-old, that rose to Derby and weight-for-age honours, while he ran some great races over a distance in handicaps, under big weights. Added to his breeding and racing form, he stands out as a handsome horse, with size and quality. There have been two changes at the Stonyhurst Stud. Jericho has been disposed of and will do stud duty next season in the Culvorden district. He is by Archery from Judith, by Martian from Hcbred Maid, and has the smart sprinter Counterblast as evidence of his ability to sire good stock. Cricket Bat. by Winning Hit from Equipment, is also to leave Stonyhurst. He has been disposed of on lease and will be at the stud next season in the Hornby district. He was a good racehorse and one or two of his young progencj’ have shown promise of being useful. He will be sent down from the stud on the day that Wild Chase goes there this week.
