ORCHESTRAL CONCERT
PERFORMANCE IN COLLEGE ASSEMBLY HALL. The programme presented in the Wairarapa College Assembly Hall last night by the Masterton Orchestra was enjoyed by a fairly large audience. Under the conductorship of Mr C. W. Kerry, the orchestra played exceptionally well, the items being practically the same as those presented at the concert in the Opera House recently, except that Haydn's symphony was shortened and a cornet solo by Mr R. E. Cottle was given instead. The vocal soloist, was Mr C. A. Clement.
The Principal of Wairarapa College, Mr C. G. Hancox, thanked the orchestra for its assistance and the audience for its attendance. He stated that the funds derived from the concert would be devoted to the Assembly Hall furnishing fund. Mr Hancox also thanked the orchestra for its help at a similar concert held last year.
At the conclusion of the concert the members of the orchestra were provided with supper.
