DRAMA LEAGUE
FESTIVAL IN OPERA HOUSE. ALTERATION IN STARTING TIME. Practically all the plays chosen by • the producers for the drama festival ~— to be held in the Opera House on July 15. 17, and 18 are new to Masterton and most are being played here for the first time. The play’s are. as usual, very varied in type, but on the whole more modern than usual. Several of the children’s plays are costume plays, and also the choice of the St Matthew’s School Old Girls, and the Wairarapa College. Both of these will be seen on Monday evening, together with a very modern propaganda play by the Peter Pan Players, and an amusing \ play about a psychologist from the Knox team. The time 7.30 p.m. is on the tickets, as it was at first thought that five plays would have to go on one evening’s programme. However. other arrangements have been made, and the first play will now commence at 7.45, but: patrons for whom this hour is too early will be admitted at the end of the first play. Most people. however will be anxious to see all the plays as they will then be able to form a judgment as to the winning team. The box plan is at Mr Vivian Joseph’s, Queen Street, and the booking is free.
