MUDGWAY BEATS CALTAUX. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI. July 10. In a spirited boxing bout tonight. N. Budgway (Waihi), the New Zealand i welterweight champion, beat Vic Caltaux (Auckland) on a points decision, after a contest which went the scheduled 12 rounds. Caltaux was the aggressor in the early rounds, and scored with solid rights to the ribs, varying with a left hook. The decision in favour of the champion met with a mixed reception. The title was not at stake.
