WEDDING
HARFORD—KING. The marriage took place at the Methodist Church, Carterton. recently of Esme Melvice, only daughter of Mr Walter S. King, and Roy Robert Harford, youngest son of Mrs A. Harford, Wellington. The bride, who entered the church escorted by her father, wore a classically cut gown of cream satin, with cowled neck-line and gathered sleeves, tapering to points at the wrists. The back was buttoned to the waist, and had a long train. The long tulle veil was held in place with a halo of orange blossoms, and she carried a sheaf of white lilies and cyclamen.
The attendant maids were Miss Isla Elkins, of Wellington and Miss Doreen Crawley, of Carterton. They wore frocks of cream lace over satin, and carried pretty bouquets of scarlet carnations.
Little Daisy Bell Aplin, of Masterton, was flower girl, wearing a frock of cream satin and a halo of scarlet berries.
The best man was Mr R. Petley, of Wellington, and the groomsman was Mr E. Gregory, also of Wellington.
On leaving the church the bride was presented with two horse shoes. After the ceremony the reception was held in Steven's tearooms, where a very pleasant afternoon was spent.
