FOURTH MEETING OF SEASON ON SATURDAY.

TWO EVENTS TO BE DECIDED.

On Saturday next, July 15. the Wai rarapa Coursing Club will conduct the fourth meeting of the present season. At this gathering the main attraction will be the Watson Rose Bowl foi maiden dogs. A full nomination has al ready been received (16 dogs), al: though nominations were not due to close before tomorrow at 6 p.m.

In conjunction with the Maiden Stake an 8 dog open event will also be run. and it. is expected by tomorrow night that this will also be filled.

Nominations for Saturday have been received from owners residing in Wellington and Wanganui, besides Carterton. and a big list locally. Of the local nominations The Trump will have a good chance. He is a deter mined runner and lasts out well. A new dog to the town, Merry Monarch, running in the partnership of Messrs James and Tayler, is expected to gal lop well. He is bred in the purple and may prove the winner. Mr R. N. Shaw, who is taking up the sport, has Trouble competing. This dog will improve as he goes along and will be always hard to keep out of a place. Mr N. Williams’s Flying Veil should give a good accoun' of herself on Saturday. She is much improved this season.
