WEDDING IN SAMOA

MULVEY—SMITH. A wedding of interest to Masterton residents was celebrated at the Rectory of the Roman Catholic Cathedral, Apia, Western Samoa, on Monday, June 12, when Rita Isabel, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. P. Smith, of Lincoln Road, Masterton. was married to John Girvan, youngest son of Mr and Mrs J. J. Mulvey, of Bulteel Street. New Plymouth. The bride, who was escorted by Mr G. V. Evans, wore a beautiful frock of ivory coloured lace. Her veil of ivory tulle was held in place by eucharest lilies. She carried a bouquet of eucharist lilies and maidenhair fern.

Miss Felicity Tliynne. of Apia, was bridesmaid. She wore a frock of pale sea green lace with accessories to match. The bridesmaid carried a bouquet of pink frangipani and maidenhair fern.

Mr R. J. Vickers, of Apia, acted as best man.

The ceremony was conducted by the tlev. Father Deihl. After the wedding a reception was held at "Vailele” homestead. The bridegroom was well known in Masterion harrier circles, being a life member of the Masterton Harrier Club. Mr and Mrs Mulvey will reside in Apia for the next eighteen months.
