RIVERSIDE CLUB. BEST CARDS FOR BOGEY. The following were the best cards handed in for bogey rounds played on Saturday:— Ladies: Mrs Rawlins, 2 down; Mrs Jones, 6 down. Men: G. Beecroft, 1 up; J. Wakelin, 1 down; F. Pool, 1 down; J. Bell, 2 down; D. Carruthers, 2 down; G. F. Candy, 3 down; R. Wearne, 4 down; C. Leigh, 4 down. MAHUNGA CLUB TROPHY COMPETITION. The following were the best cards returned for the first qualifying round for the trophy donated by the ladies of the club, which was played in con junction with the second round of the net aggregate:—J. P. Farrell, score 94. handicap 24, total 70; A. H. Ward 81, 10, 71; A. S. McGregor 82, 10, 72: W. N. A. Hosking 92, 20, 72. In the second round of the captain’s trophy competition R. Lendrum beaL L. J. Thompson 1 up; R. B. McPherson beat F. R. Brown 2/1; W. N. A. Hosking and C. Sandbek all square; J. W. Sievers beat J. W. Dove 2/1. BIDEFORD CLUB MEN’S COMPETITION. Some of the stalwarts of the Bideford Golf Club essayed to play the qualifying rounds for the club championships on Sunday but, owing to the snow which in the afternoon covered the links to a depth of an inch, the first round was the only one to be played. At a meeting of the committee it was decided that all members would have a chance to qualify, if they played a round on Sunday morning nextf when the annual Town v Country match will be played. As the first sixteen to* qualify will be in the club championship as many as possible of the town members should make an effort to be present. The following are the best cards handed in to date:- — J. Bell 74, G. Falloon 76, J. Thornton 79. T. Falloon 79. As a good day is promised for all players in the Town v Country match, all wishing to take part should communicate with Mr W. Baty, the town captain.
