SNOW ON RANGES

CONDITIONS IN WAIRARAPA. Bleak weather continued in the Wairarapa last night and today, though the conditions appear to be gradually improving. Snow fell during the night on the top of the Maungaraki Ranges, but not to any considerable extent. A light fall also occurred on the high country at Te Wharau. On the other hand, the Haurangi Range area, near Martinborough, is said to have experienced ciuite a substantial fall, while snow is also well down on the lower slopes of the Tararua Ranges and on the Rimutakas.
