The tennis championships were advanced another stage today, the following being among the more important results: — Women's Doubles. FOURTH ROUND. Miss K. Stammers and Mrs Hammersley (Britain) defeated Miss Harvey and Mrs M. R. King (Britain), 6/1. 4/6, 6/2. SEMI-FINAL. Mrs S. Fabyan and Miss A. Marble (U.S.A.) defeated Miss K. Stammers and Mrs Hammersley, 8/6, 6/3. Men’s Doubles. SEMI-FINAL. E. T. Cooke and R. L. Riggs (U.S.A.) defeated J. Borotra and J. Brughon (France). 6/3, 3/6, 6/2, 6/3. C. E. Hare and F. H. D. Wilde (Britain) defeated R. A. Shayes and J. S. Oliff (Britain), 6/2, 6/4, 6/4. Combined Doubles. FIFTH ROUND. C. E. Malfroy (New Zealand) and Miss B. Nuthall (Britain) defeated P. Geelhand and Mrs J. de Meulemeester | (Belgium), 6/3, 2/6, 6/4. R. L. Riggs and Miss A. Marble (U.S.A.) defeated Jones and Miss Harvey (Britain), 5/7, 6/1, 6/3.
SIXTH ROUND. E. T. Cooke aitd Mrs Fabyan (U.S.A.) defeated Russell and Mrs HammerSlcy (Britain), 7/5, 3/6, 6'3. R. L. Riggs and Miss A. Marble (U.S.A.) defeated C. E. Malfroy and Miss B. Nuthall, 3/6, 6/2, 674. ' Men’s Singles. FINAL. R. L. Riggs (U.S.A.) defeated E. T. Cooke (U.S.A.), 2/6, 3/6, 3/6, 6/3, 6/2. Cooke led 4/1 in the second set. Then Riggs made an amazing recovery, but, generally, it was a disappointing match and there was little enthusiasm.
