WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT MT. BRUCE. The June meeting of the Mt. Bruce Women’s Institute was held in the Hall. A demonstration, the covering of eiderdowns, was most capably given by Mrs P. R. Welch. A welcome was extended to Mrs Alexander, who handed round schedules for the “Diggers’ Market” to be held in the Masterton Town Hall on July 13.Competitions resulted as follow: — Thrift article, Mrs C. L. Welch, 1 and 2; blooms, Miss Campbell (geranium), 1; Mrs Welch (hydrangea). 2. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs McLachlan and Miss Welch. The July meeting will be held at Mrs West's home, the hostesses for this meeting being Miss Campbell and Miss West.
