REPRESENTATIVE MATCH WAIRARAPA v WELLINGTON. LOCAL TEAM SELECTED. The sole selector, Mr J. Fisher. Carterton, has chosen the Wairarapa Representative teams to play Wellington at Lansdowne on Saturday, as follows: Goal: G. Tildesey (Dalefield). Full-backs: S. Fisher (Carterton). A. Kay (Kiwi). Halves: D. Dick (Hastwell), R. Dick (Hastwell), M. Knutson (Dalefield). Forwards: L. Bicknell (Dalefield), E. Fleet (Dalefield), S. Fisher (Carterton). M. Worsfold (Carterton. Captain). T. Hooper (Dalefield). B TEAM. Goal: Ngatuere (Hastwell). Full-back: C. Larsen (Hastwell), A. Ordish (Dalefield). Halves: A. Stubbings (Kiwi), C. Knutson (Dalefield, capt), H. Worthington (Kiwi). Forwards: V. Sayer (Carterton), B. Dick (Hastwell); G. Ruakere (Hastwell); A. Bell (Wesley), D. Leete (Kiwi). Reserves: Goal, Emerson (Wesley); Back, E. Steer (Wesley); Half,’ G. Townsend (Dalefield); M. Sigvertsen (Hastwell). Any players not available are asked to ring Mr Fisher (phone 187, Carterton) as soon as possible. The B game will commence at 1.30 Messrs Harding and Hayne will be the referees. The A game will commence at 3 p.m. Mr A. Stubbings will be the referee. The B team will play in white jerseys and black, shorts. ASSOCIATION MEETING. The management committee meeting of the Wairarapa Hockey Association was held in Masterton last evening. Mr G. Hayne presiding over a full attedance of members. Mr G. Maloney wrote asking that ambulance members be provided for junior matches in Carterton and Greytown. The St John Ambulance Association is to be asked to assist in this direction if possible.
The Nelson Association wrote that the Nordon Cup challenge match Wairarapa v Nelson had been set down for August 5, at Nelson. The secretary was instructed to make inquiries in regard to transport. A request from Hastwell to be given permission to play a match at Taihape on, August 3 was granted, provided that players chosen for the Nordon Cup match dd not take part. The junior fixtures will be continued on Saturday. Mr R. S. Moor was appointed sole selector for the junior representatives. It was decided to arrange a representative game for the juniors with Wellington at Wellington as soon as possible. It was decided to play a third round in the senior competition. A vote of thanks to Mr and Mrs Stubbings and to the chairman concluded the meeting. The next meeting will be held at Carterton on Tuesday, August 8.
