AUSTRALIA’S PROSPECTS
SIR J. HUTCHISON IMPRESSED. INTEREST IN NEW ZEALAND LEGISLATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Sir James Hutchison, editor of the “Otago Daily Times” arrived back with Lady Hutchison from Australia and will spend a few days in Wellington before going south. He is impressed with the future prospects of the Commonwealth. particularly Queensland. He said he had been told by a prominent Sydney business man that July and August would be difficult months for Australia but bnce they were over, a term of increasing prosperity was anticipated. There was an increase of five per cent in wool prices at Brisbane, said Sir James, and growers' were looking forward to still higher prices. He said he had encountered no animosity towards New Zealand on account of the import restrictions policy but Australian business men generally were awaiting the outcome of recent legislation in the Dominion with the greatest curiosity.
