ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
CONCERT ON JULY 13. The concert in aid of the St John Ambulance, Men’s Division, on Thursday, July 13, in the Opera House is creating a considerable amount of interest and patrons will be well advised to obtain their tickets early. The programme is a varied and attractive one, comprising campfire songs, sketches and playettes, by the cadets and an excellent supporting programme of elocutionary, vocal and dancing items by local artists. Miss Leah Johnson and Miss Beulah Hirst will be heard in vocal numbers and Mr C. Clement will render baritone solos. The elocutionary numbers will be supplied by pupils from Mrs Edna Paterson’s studio. Miss Jean McKay will play on her piano -accordion and vari - ety will be added by toe and tap dances, a girls’ physical drill squad from the Wairarapa College, the Mouth Organ Band from Central School and a team of gymnasts led by Mr Avon Tatton. The prices of admission are 2s 6d reserves and Is 6d. Children will be admitted to all parts of the house •for Is.
