Miss Noreen Cohen, of Wellington, spent the weekend in Masterton.
Mrs O. C. Petersen, of Waitara, is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs W. Bray, Hastwells. Mr and Mrs G. Ward, Pownall Street, Masterton, have returned after an ex • tended tour of the North Island.
The death occurred yesterday in the Pahiatua Hospital of Mrs Marion Reese, of Pahiatua, at the age of 89 years.
Miss Ethel Johnston, of Renall Street, Mgsterton, left Wellington by air on Saturday for Palmerston North and returned to Masterton by motor car yesterday. The death occurred in Napier of Sister Mary Eagle, N.Z.E.F., who was a member of a well-known Hawke’s Bay family. She was a sister of Mr F. Eagle, mayor of Waipawa, and of Mr J. Eagle, Palmerston North. Before her death she was in business in Napier, the firm being known as Eagle and Redstone.
