BAPTIST FELLOWSHIP

INAUGURAL SUNDAY SERVICE. The Rev Laurence A. North, secretary of the New Zealand Baptist Union, was the preacher at the first Sunday service which the Masterton Baptists have had since the fellowship was started some two years ago. Held in lhe Y.M.C.A. Hall yesterday twenty - eight people attended, including Mr J. R. Carey, of Lower Hutt, president of the Baptist Church Extension Committee, and Mr W. R. Carey, secretary of the Central Baptist Auxiliary. Letters of greetings were read from Mr F. W. Horner, president of the New Zealand Baptist Union and the executive of the Central Auxiliary. Of those gathered some eleven New Zealand Baptist churches were represent cd —from as far north as Auckland, to Greymouth in the south—the members being still on their respective church rolls' but living in Masterton. This service was followed by the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.
