ATTENDED BY THE KING & QUEEN THANKSGIVING FOR SAFE RETURN. SIGNIFICANCE OF TOUR. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10 a.m.) LONDON, July 2. Crowds watched their Majesties the King and Queen, arrive at Westminster Abbey for a thanksgiving service for their safe return from their tour. The congregation included Sir Thomas Inskip, other Ministers and members of the Royal Household. The Dean, of Westminster offered a special prayer and Canon Barry, in a sermon, said the tour had revealed the true meaning of the British Commonwealth. He added: “Civilisation has brought itself to the brink of self-des-truction and the choice lies between Christianity and the jungle. We give thanks for the inspiration to the world by their Majesties' journey.” The King in the afternoon reviewed 20,000 national service men from all parts of the country in Hyde Park.
