OBITUARY
MRS P. H. SHAW. The death occurred in the Master--ton Hospital early yesterday morning after a short but severe illness of Mrs Gladys Kathleen Shaw, of 95 Chapel Street, Masterton. at the age of 42 years. Mrs Shaw was well known in the district, being associated with a number of organisations. She was a member of the Townswomen’s Guild, the women’s branch of the Labour Party and of the committee of the Central School Parents’ Association. At one time she took an active interest in the Wairarapa Caledonian Society, being a member of the social committee. She rendered excellent service in connection with all these organisations. Mrs Shaw was born in Masterton and was the daughter of Mr and the late Mrs J. B. McKenzie. The late Mrs Shaw was held in high esteem for her many personal qualities. Possessing a sympathetic nature she was ever ready to render service to those in need. In this connection she endeared herself to a wide circle of friends, and the news of her death will be received with feelings of deep regret. She is survived by her husband, Mr P. H. Shaw, Chapel Street, Masterton, and three children. The funeral will leave the residence tomorrow afternoon.
