Miss Joan Sullivan, of Carterton, is the guest of Mr and Mrs D. Lynch, of Colyton. Mrs Barclay, Waitara, is the guest of Mrs E. G. Eton, Cornwall Street, Masterton. Mrs R. C. Drummond, Lansdowne, has returned from a visit to Dannevirke. Mr and Mrs G. O. Craike, Hastings, are visiting Mr and Mrs W. H. Percy, Masterton. Mr and Mrs H. J. Jones, of Masterton, are weekend visitors to Paraparaumu Beach. Mrs Clinton Baddeley, North Aucklad, is staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs A. T. P. Hubbard, Upper Plain. Mrs Stewart, Wellington, is visiting her daughter, Mrs E. R. Barton, Lansdowne. Miss McKay, Cole Street, is spending a few days with Mrs A. H. Ahrens, Rangitumau. Mrs F. J. Parker, of the Methodist Parsonage, Lincoln Road, left Masterton yesterday by train for Auckland, where her mother is seriously ill. Miss Bessie Donald and Miss Jean Donald, of Featherston, who have been on a visit to Wanganui, have returned home. Miss I. E. Whiteman, of Nelson, returned home today after having spent a holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs W. G. Whiteman, Lansdowne. Madame Saldaigne, former lecturer of French at Otago University, died after a long illness, at Antwerp, Belgium, in May. Miss A. Petersen, of Essex Street, Masterton, is a visitor to Palmerston North where she is the guest of her sister, Mrs Brookes. Mr and Mrs J. S. Nugent, of Tokomaru Bay, are the guests of Mr and Mrs W. L. Hunter, Coradine Street, Masterton. Mr and Mrs Nugent will leave next week on a visit to Japan. Visitors to Marton for the McKay— Brice wedding included Mr and Mrs R. McGovern, Rangitumau, Mr and Mrs John McKenzie, Miss M. McKenzie, Pukete, and Mr W. McGovern, Masterton.

Guests at the Prince of Wales Hotel this week included Mr and Mrs L. Osborne (Nelson), Miss M. Alexander (Christchurch), Mrs McCrae (Wellington), Mr and Mrs C. Mellars, the Misses E. and J. Mellars (Morrinsville) and Mr and Mrs J. E. Wanklyn (Hawera). The death occurred in Palmerston North after a long/illness of Sister Mary Nolasco, a member of the community of the Sisters of Mercy and a member.'of a well-known Wellington Catholic family. She completed her education at St Mary's College, Hill Street, Wellington, entering the novita’te there in 1924. She was a successful teacher in several schools, including Buckle Street and Seatoun, Wellington, Palmerston North and Marton. She endeared herself not only to her pupils, many of whom sent her tokens of their gratitude and affection during her illness, but to members of her community as well. Mass was celebrated in the convent chapel by the Right Rev MacManus, and the burial took place in Terrace End cemetery, her uncle, Father P. Scanlon, S.M., Temuka, officiating at the graveside. Fathers Lenihan (Marton), Keegan and Jansen were also present.
