COSY THEATRE

DOUBLE FEATURE PROGRAMME. The programme tonight will be headed by that thrilling picture, “Mysterious Rider.” Crooked ranchers, in secret league with cattle rustlers, find themselves up against a proposition too hot to handle when they try to rob the daughter of the most feared yet innocent outlaw in Zane Grey’s newest tale of the range,“The Mysterious Rider.” Although the bandits are in league with the girl’s guardian, who sees his chance to make away with her property, they are met by her father, who routs them in an exciting range cleanup. In this Paramount picture, Douglass Dumbrille will be seen in the title role. Others in the cast are Russell Hayden, Charlotte Fields, Sidney Toler and Weldon Heyburn. The life of seamen when they’re away from the sea forms the comic background for “Give Me a Sailor,” the other attraction. The efforts of two brothers to win the same girl, the transformation of an ugly duckling into a scintillating beauty, and a na-tion-wide million-dollar legs contest provide the action of the' plot. Heading the cast is the screen’s newest comedy-romance team, Martha Raye and Bob Hope, who will now be seen as a Cinderella-girl and a love-sick sailor, respectively, while Betty Grable has the role of the sweetheart of the U.S. Fleet.
