The death occurred this week of Mrs Lilias Shakes, widow of Mr James Shakes, formerly a well j kn own resident of Wellington. Mrs Shakes was: born in Napier 80 years ago, but lived nearly all her life in Wellington. She is survived by her only daughter, Miss Lily Shakes, and by her sons, Albert, Clifford -and Gordon Shakes, Wellington, and Harry Shakes, Te Kuiti.
