NEW AMERICAN REVUE

New Zealand theatregoers who are in search of something new in the entertainment field will welcome the visit to these shores of Sir Benjamin Fuller’s “Funz-A-Poppin” Variety Company. The star artists of this show are the world-renowned Salici Parisian Puppets. These “life-like” artists who have created a sensation throughout Europe and America and more recently in Australia, present a complete revue themselves. Amazingly realistic, they sing, dance, clown, do acrobatic turns, play the piano, and one actually smokes. The Salici’s themselves—six men and one woman have fine voices. In addition to the marionettes, there are twelve star acts in “Funz-A-Poppin” which comes direct from New York’s Broadway. These include Ross and Edwards, Ziegfeld comedy stars; Tommy “Bozo” Synder, noted Broad-, way pantomimic comedian; Murray Greene and Elsa Lang, musical comedy artists; Jack BickleJ youthful dancing, star; Loretta Grey, “Pepperpot” comedienne; June and Trudell Van, Hollywood twins; the Twelve Dancing Debutantes, celebrated dance loam from the New York Radio City Music Hall; and Bobby Morris, recently here with the Hollywood Hotel Revue. An orchestra under the direction of Joseph Clauser is another feature of this spectacular show which will appear in Masterton shortly.
