CARTERTON MEETING HEAVY TRAFFIC FEES. ALLOCATION AGREED TO. ("Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Carter ton Borough Council was held last night. Those present were the Mayor, Mr D. L. Taverner, and Councillors O. Wolters, J. Udy. T. Clark”. C. Stevens, C. J. DeLacey, W. A. Hart, R. A. Copeland and H. Mortenson. Advice was received from the Masterton County Council, the distributing authority of heavy traffic licence fees for the No 10 Heavy Traffic District. that the agreement in respect of the existing basis of the allocation of the fees expired on May 31. The basis of allocation for the two years ended May 31 was: Boroughs 25 per cent. Counties 75 per cent. As the county was agreeable it was decided to continue on this basis for a further two years. The Wellington Provincial Council, New Zealand Centennial Organisation, wrote acknowledging half the council's contribution towards the Wellington Provincial Memorial, which is at present being erected on the Petone.foreshore.
