Menzel and Goepfert (Germany). 2/6,'4/6, 6/3, 6/4, 6/2. D. C. Coombe and C. E. Malfroy (New Zealand) beat Prenn and Van Len Eynde (Belgium), 6/4, 7/5, 3/6, 6/3. Women’s Singles. In the women’s singles, first round, the results were:— Miss Huntbach (Britain) defeated Miss Nicholl (Britain), 6/8, 6/4, 6/2. Miss Jacobs-(United States) defeated Mrs Haylock (Britain), 6/0, 6/2. Miss Wheeler (United States) defeated Miss Nuthall (Britain). 7/5, 2/6, 6/2.
