Halifax. —A live butterfly recently was found by a miner in the Glace Bay coal mines at a depth of 1000 feet and two miles' out under the bed of the sea. At this point, the Glace Bay coal mines run out a considerable distance under the bed of the Atlantic Ocean and with the aid of arc lights, the miners have been able to develop an extensive Hower garden, blooming in profusion under the artificial light and the warm, humid atmosphere.
