"FUNZ-A-POPPIN"
A FAMOUS PERSONALITY.
A very famous personality is the producer of “Funz-A-Poppiti and who is accompanying this all-Aineriean Re* vue Company on its tour of New Zealand. He is Alex Gerber, one of America's most noted song-writers. He wrote such hits as “Michigan, "There s a Little Bit of Bad in Every Good Little Girl,” and "Fountain of Youth.” Un America he produces his own shows arid writes the songs. He wrote many songs in association with Sigmund Romberg, writer of "Desert Song. "New Moon," "Student Prince” and “Maytime.” He also wrote “Cecilia" which was made famous by the "whispering baritone.” Jack Smith, and wrote the music for "Tilly’s Nightmare.” a show played by Marie Dressier. In his shows at the famous Winter Garden were Eddie Cantor. Al Jolson and the three Ritz Brothers. His number. “Funz-A-Poppin,” is thc highlight of the Company of that name now appearing with such success throughout New Zealand.
