WEDDING

LENZ—MCMULLEN. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at Knox Presbyterian Church, Masterton, recently, when Marguerite Elizabeth (Rita), only daughter of Mr and Mrs T. McMullen, was married to Arthur, youngest son of Mr and Mrs J. W. Lenz, all of Masterton. The church was prettily decorated and the Rev. J. Davie -was the officiating minister. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a becoming frock of ivory satin cut on classical lines, with a flowing tulle- veil, held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms. - Her shower bouquet was of white roses and chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern, and she was presented with two silver horse-shoes by Bary Graham and Heather Stalker.

Miss Freda Masters, dressed in a frock of fuscfyia coloured velvet and wearing a gold Juliet cap and sandals, and also a gold necklace, the gift of the bridegroom, looked charming as bridesmaid, and carried a bouquet of gold and yellow flowers and fern. Two little flower girls, Milda Vicars and Betty Woodill, were dressed in frocks to tone with the bridesmaid, and carried posies of pink and lavendar flowers. They also wore the bridegroom’s gift—a brooch, in the shape of a lucky horseshoe and a thistle. All The bouquets were made by Mrs Scharnweber, a friend of long standing. The bridegroom was supported by Mr Ken McMullen, brother of the bride, as best man and Messrs Ken and Mackie Turnbull acted as ushers.

Later a reception was held in the Social Hall of the Municipal Buildings, where the many guests were received by Mrs McMullen, assisted by Mrs Lenz Senr. Mrs McMullen wore a navy and white ensemble and Mrs Lenz was attired in a black coat and hat. They both carried small bouquets. The bridal party was piped in and out of the church, and also into the reception hall by Mr R. Stalker. > After receiving many congratulations and good wishes, Mr and Mrs A. Lenz left by car for their honeymoon. Their future home will be in Masterton.
