MINIATURE RIFLES

MASTERTON CLUB MID-SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP. WIN FOR H. KING. Excellent scores were registered by members of the Masterton Club at their annual mid-season shoot held on Saturday. The championship title was keenly contested by Messrs H. King and I. Sutherland, both only missing the bullseye once in their 28 shots, the former winning on the use of the inner bullseye circle. I. Sutherland convincingly won the EV grade aggregate (handicap), taking Mr J. Bradbury’s Challenge Cup and also Mr L. Renall’s special trophy, while W. F. Weston was runner-up. Mrs' C. J. Curtin was successful in winning the trophy donated for firstyear shooters. At the conclusion of the shooting, supper was partaken of and the various trophies presented. The following are the details of the shooting, the conditions being: First match, 14 shots; second match, 7 shots, with inner bull counting in second match and final for A grade. B grade conditions were the same, only the decimal handicap system being used. Top scorers in each grade fired a further 7 shot final, which was added to their scores and decided the winners:—

Jenkins, 70.3; Hope Cross, 69.4; Mrs King, 69.4; DD. P. Donald, 69.4; J. Bouzaid, 69.4; J. Duckett, 69.4. B grade: I. Sutherland, 70; W. D. Wallace, 69.05; J. R. Golder, 69.05; W. F. Weston, 69.04; Mrs Curtin, 68.82; K. Lambert, 68.82.
