BOXING
WIN FOR RAYNER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NELSON, June 25. Clarrie Rayner, New Zealand lightweight professional boxing champion, beat Vai Borcovsky, Murchison, on a technical knockout in the eighth round of a scheduled 10-round bout. Rayner won all the rounds with the exception of the second. Toward the end the champion’s clean hitting quickly weakened Borcovsky, who was on the mat twice before the referee stopped the bout.
