VICTORIA COLLEGE

MR P. LEVI’S LONG SERVICES.

MOTION OF APPRECIATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Tributes to the long services of Mr P. Levi to Victoria College were paid at last night’s meeting of the College Council and a motion expressing the council’s deep appreciation of those services was carried by acclamation. Mr Levi had been a member of the council for 22 years, and for 18 years has been chairman. In acknowledging the resolution, he mentioned that he had been connected with the council for more than half the life of the College.. He had been pressed to stand again for the council, but it was a mistake, as the voting showed. He should have resigned. He was now over 80, and it was time to go, but he admitted that he went with regret, though it was right that he should give place to others. Mr Levi is still a member of the University Senate.
