BADMINTON
NEWS AROUND THE CLUBS. St Matthews. —Playing top girl and turning on good badminton, Norma Richards has not lost an interclub game for two seasons, as has Cyril Carle, top man. Carle is also playing good badminton this season. Hugo’s—Alan Payne is playing a good game. Carle and Payne had a splendid singles match on Wednesday night. Carle winning out 15/6. Don Leete is coming on well. Miss Vincent ,is the pick of the girls. Methodist. —Alan Handyside and his brother Eric are striking good form. Jean Hoar is playing well for her first year. Red Star. —Gordon Peterson and Heather Brown are playing top string and turning on good badminton. Masterton. —Frank Walker is playing a good game. Regent.—Geo McCullough is playing badminton of a high standard. Marg. Bell and Betty Turner are also shaping well. Nomads. —Edna Madsen is steadily improving her game, and is playing like a champion. Bert Hurley is coming on well. Max Jones is playing his usuual good game. Martinborough. —O. Grant is striking form. Mrs Simpson is well on her game.
