WEDDING

jREEVES-GILMER. A charming all white- colour scheme with the frocks of the bridesmaid and flower girl following in exact detail that of the bride, was a pretty note at the wedding in Wellington- yesterday afternoon of Miss Patricia Dalziel Hamilton Gilmer and Mr Eric Francis Joseph Reeves. The ceremony took place at the Basilica, Hill Street, the creamy satin frocks of the bridal party gleaming softly as the wearers walked up the aisle in the shadowy interior of the church.

A diamond and sapphire brooch, the bridegroom’s gift, was worn by the bride at the high neckline of her frock with its fitted edwardian bodice and full skirt falling in deep folds from the waist. High puffed sleeves were gathered just below the elbow, where they finished in a fitted band. A cream tulle veil formed a billowing train and as the bride entered the church she wore the veil over her face. A short coronet frill of net with orange blossom spray finished the headdress and a touch of colour was introduced with a posy in soft mauve shades. The bride’s veil was lent by Mrs Warwick Blundell'. < The- bride is the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs Hamilton.' Gilmer, Wellington, and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Fl K. Reeves, Wellington, and the late Mr F. K. Reeves. Tall white sprays of flowers were arranged at the altar rail in the church,, the ceremony' being performed by the Rev. Father Walsh. Miss Shirley Clay was bridesmaid, and Miss Jane Grant, the bride’s niece, was. flower girl Both wore frocks the same as that of the bride in cream slipper satin. Topknots 6f flowers were arranged in their hair and their posies were of matching mauve flowers.

Mr Glyn Jones, Dannevirke, was best man and the- ushers were Dr. Robert Stout and Messrs Ern Gore and C. Evans>Scott. The bride was attended by her brother, Mr H. J. H. Gilmer. ,
