FLYING ACTIVITIES

WAIRARAPA AND RUAHINE CLUB. PROPOSED FIELD DAY. - The monthly meeting’of the committee of the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aero Club was held on Tuesday evening a the Club House, Hood Aerodrome, Masterton, Mr A. McDonald (president) presiding. During May a total of 44 hours 45 minutes was flown, this being an improvement of over 11 hours on the same month last year. Cross-country flights to Dannevirke were made on two occasions. It was decided that letters of thanks be forwarded to the Masterton Borough Council and the Trust Lands Trust for making grants to the club. The Dannevirke Airport Association wrote inquiring regarding a proposed field day at its aerodrome.. It was decided that as soon as circumstances permitted, arrangements would be made to have a field day and to hold the inter-branch competition between Dannevirke and Masterton for the J. W. Buchanan trophy.

A sum of £2O was voted to the Dannevirke Airport Association for the use of its aerodrome during the current year.
