SHEEP FARMING
MEMBERS OF COMMISSION OF INQUIRY SIR F. FRAZER APPOINTED CHAIRMAN. WIDE ORDER OF REFERENCE PROMISED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. The personnel of a Commission of Inquiry into Hie sheep larmino' industry of New Zealand was announced last evening' by Ihe Minister of Agriculture, Mr Lee Martin. The order of reference of Hie com- ■ mission, said the Minister, would be extremely wide and would cover all phases of the industry. The commission, which was to bo vested with the powers of a Royal Commission, would commence its investigation as soon as the necessary preliminary arrangements could be made. The members of the commission are: The Hon. Sir Francis Frazer, deputychairman of the Executive Commission of Agriculture, who will be chairman. Mr H. M. Christie, a prominent farmer . of Hawke’s Bay, who has been chairman of the Wool Publicity Committee since its inception, and is a member of the Massey Agricultural College Board of Governors. Mr A. A. Cook, general secretary of the New Zealand Workers’ Union, who hag had long experience' of the sheep farming industry and has a special knowledge 'of all conditions of farm and station labour. Mr R. A. Rodger, who has had long experience as land purchase officer of the Lands Department and has an extensive knowledge of stock and station business. Mr R. C. Todhunter, Methven, one of the best-known back-country runholders in New Zealand.
