SERVICES RECOGNISED
TROTTING CLUB OFFICIALS. TWO PRESENTATIONS. (“Times-Age” Special.) For 21 years Mr J. F. Thompson had been president of the Wairarapa Trotting Club, and at last night’s smoke concert the opportunity was taken by members to record them appreciation of his splendid and loyal services. In making a presentation to Mr Thompson, Mr W. Howard Booth paid a glowing tribute to Mr Thompson for the work he had accomplished for the Wairarapa Trotting Club, and said that he was indeed sorry that all his hard work had not received the support it merited. On behalf of the members Mr Booth presented Mr Thompson with an inscribed gold watch. In returning thanks Mr Thompson said that he regretted the fact that the captain had. not been able to pilot the ship to port, and also personally thanked all those who had given him able assistance during his term of office. Mr F. C. Bunny who has been a honorary judge for approximately 10 years, was presented with a silver cocktail mixer and six glasses as a token of the club’s esteem. The presentation was made by Mr Thompson.
