MARRIED STOWAWAYS
ORDERED TO PAY FARES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY, June 19. The married couple who stowed away on the Awatea from Wellington were before the Court this afternoon, and each fined 10s. They gave their name as Oxenham. The husband was ordered to pay his fare of £9 9s, in default 20 days’ gaol. He was given six months to pay. His wife was ordered to pay £3 9s, the balance of the fare collected from the passengers, in default 24 hours’ gaol. The husband and wife were released on giving undertakings to the Court that they would meet their obligations.
