WEDDING

PYNE—SCHOFIELD. A very pretty, wedding was celebrated at the Church of the Good Shepherd at Tinui on Saturday, when Laura Hedly, third daughter of Mr and Mrs E. H. Schofield. Peach Grove, Tinui. was married to Rondon Arthur, second son of Mr and Mrs R. A. Pyne, of Khandallah, Wellington. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming frock of embossed georgette over magnolia satin, made on simple lines, with a cowl neck and flowing train. The bridesmaids, Misses Noeline and Ina Schofield (sisters of the bride). Marie Pyne (sister of the bridegroom), and Nancy Speedy, and the tiny flower girl, Valerie Malmo, presented a charming picture in their frocks of ring velvet, made in Victorian style, each one being a different colour, green, pink, lemon and blue. Mr Trevor Pyne, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man, and Mr H. Schofield, the bride’s brother, carried out the duties of groomsman. The Rev C. L. Dobbs, Vicar of Tinui, was the officiating minister.

A reception was held in the Tinui Hall where one hundred and fifty guests were received by Mr and Mrs Schofield, assisted by Mr and Mrs Pyne. Mrs Schofield wore a black frock of French crepe, while Mrs Pyne was attired in a tailored costume of grey and black. The hall and church were beautifully decorated in the colours of the bridesmaids’ dresses the decorations being carried out by friends of the bride under the supervision of Mrs Rewi Speedy.

After the reception Mr and Mrs.R. A. Pyne left by car, the latter being dressed in a frock of London tan and a coat of forest green with assessories to match.

The guests were entertained in the evening at a dance in the Tinui Hall. Amongst the visitors were the following: Mrs L. M. Isitt, Mr and Mrs J. Gordon Smith, Mr and Mrs Aplin, Mr and Mrs Haines, all of Wellington; Mr and Mrs Campbell Pearce, Featherston; Mr and Mrs Aplin, Manakau; Mr and Mrs E. A. King, Mrs G. Herbert and Messrs Jack and Allan Herbert, of Hawke’s Bay; Mr and Mrs H. V. Caverhill Rongotea; Mr and Mrs T. V. Caverhill, Masterton; Mr and Mrs Bert Pringle, Masterton; Mr J. Wright and Miss Rhodes, Pahiatua;' Mr and Mrs George Taylor and Misses N. and M. Taylor, Craigielea; Mr and Mrs B. Scholfield, Te Wharau; Mr and Mrs W. Malmo, Bideford; Mrs H. Bellis and Misses C. and F. Bellis, Masterton.
