Figures show that more and more girls are taking up flying. This makes it rather awkward for a lover to worship the ground she doesn’t even stay on. The “rat week” now on in Auckland has resulted in an exceptional demand by the public for poisoned baits. Already the sanitary department of the Auckland Council has received 844 callers, and has issued to them 24,456 baits. In addition supplies have been made available to suburban local bodies and to shops. The number of rats killed by the poison baits is believed to be large. In addition many residents arc using traps, which are accounting for a fair number of rats. Some cats have died after eating poisoned rats,
