NATIONAL RESERVE
LEGION OF FRONTIERSMEN ENROL IN MASTER TON. At a general meeting of “K” Squadron, Legion of Frontiersmen, held in Masterton last night, a resolution was passed that all members should immediately enrol in the Government’s National Reserve. Cards were filled in by all members present to be handed in to the authorities on the following day, by the officer commanding the Squadron, Captain G. Johnson. Further enrolment cards will be presented when members who were not at the meeting, have handed in their cards, and it is intended that the local Squadron as a body some 35 strong should offer its services in the cause of the Empire. It was further decided to co-operate fully with the local body scheme for air raid precautions and qualifications of individual officers, N.C.O’s., and men of the Squadron will be presented to the Town Clerk, so that the services of the Squadron either individually or as a body, can be utilised at a moment’s notice. Captain Johnson and Lieutenant J. Wallis were appointed delegates to attend the annual conference of the New Zealand Command to be held in Auckland on June 25. Trooper Snelgrove will also be attending the conference.
