WAIRARAPA CLUB’S MEETING. CHINA CLIPPER WINS MAIDEN EVENT. ’■ On Saturday before a large attendance at the Akura Plumpton, coursing I of a particularly fine standard was 5 witnessed. The dogs competing in most cases were very fast and clever workers, and when slipped on the strong hares provided some great contests. Once again the hares proved the mas- • ters, reaching cover time and time ; again. Mr J. H. Prout’s China Clipper ’ was the outstanding dog in the cup, 1 winning the trophy outright for her owner. In the open stake Mr W. L. Jensen was successful with Helen Rpfus, Dainty Footsteps having to be ’ withdrawn from the final.
