Five men were trapped by a huge fall of earth at the South Mine at Broken Hill yesterday afternoon. Ray Eurns, aged 21, was rescued about midnight, following on feverish efforts of rescuers. Little Hope is held of finding the others alive. They arc: John Martin, 29; Percy McGregor and Jack Falchi, 22; Joseph Rodda, 23. The fall occurred between the eight and nine hundred feet levels.
