WORLD FAIR
DISPLAY OF FINE WOOLLEN MATERIALS. The Fine Woollens Export Trade Committee of Britain, in association with the International Wool Secretariat, representing growers of the Empire Dominions, are responsible for the beautiful fine woollen section of the British Pavilion at the Worlds Fair, New York. Designed by Misha Black and Milna Gray, R.D.1., the section is carried out in Empire materials, the woodwork being of ash and teak. One of the most interesting features of the Exhibit is a 40 foot high mural decoration depicting the woollen industry. and a brilliant colour display of hunting fabrics lead the spectator to a flight of stairs connecting a shallow bay from which a'huge window can be seen dressed with women’s fabrics, scarves, rugs, etc., against a fabric background, while large drapes are held by suspended glass disks. The Wool Secretariat produced a special book dealing with the history, tradition and development of fine woollens for distribution at the World’s Fair.
