DIGGERS’ MARKET
SOME COMPETITION PRIZES. Interest in the forthcoming Diggers’ Market to be held in Masterton is increasing. The public has already several opportunities available to assist this worthy cause. In several shop windows prizes are on display which will go to the winners of the competitions for which these prizes are offered. The person who judges the correct number of peas and beans in a decanter shown in Mr L. S. Nicol’s window will receive a beautiful doll and an order from Mr Nicol for goods to the value of £2 2s. A fender in the window of Mr George Barr is going for 6d, that is, to the person who correctly estimates the number of beads in a bottle. Mr J. Ninnes is offering a traycloth, also for 6d. and Messrs Hendry and Dickson are exhibiting an appetising cake to the one who- can judge its weight correctly. Mrs Collier has a beautiful sheepskin rug in her window for the person who can judge the length of a piece of string. All these prizes are obtainable for the expenditure of Gd.
