MAGISTRATE’S COURT BUSINESS AT YESTERDAY’S SITTING. (“Times-Age” Special.) A sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held in Greytown yesterday before Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M. Judgment was given by default for plaintiff in the following cases:— Heapys Ltd. v. T. Rewi, claim £lO, costs £1 13s 6d. W. H. Day Ltd. v. T. Rewi, claim £9 16s 9d, costs £1 13 Gd. The trustees of the Allan Chisholm Estate claimed from P. J. Flood £l7 10s, costs £2 Ils, and possession of a tenement. Judgment was given for the amount claimed and possession of the house within 17 days. Joseph John Bramwell, Lower Hutt, was fined £2 and costs 10s for having failed to keep on the left side of the road whilst driving a motor vehicle. A. L. Jack, of Waipukurau, was fined £3 and costs 10s for having driven a motor-car within the borough of Greytown at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour; for not having a warrant of fitness he was fined 10s and costs lus. William Nesbit Scotland, Wellington, was charged with having driven a mo-tor-car along Main Street, Greytown, at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour. He was fined £4 and costs 10s. P. J. Pope was charged with having carried on a goods service in a controlled area without proper licence and was fined £1 and costs 10s. i Reginald Maurice Flood was charged with having ridden a motor cycle without a licence and was fined £1 and costs 10s. P. Willson, ranger for the Wellington Acclimatisation Society, proceeded against Robert Tilson for shooting pukeko at Papawai during the close sea?’ son. Defendant was fined £3 and costs. It was stated that Tilson shot the birds on his father’s property because they were damaging the crops.
