STUDIO BEAUTY EXPERTS

LORETTA YOUNG’S CONFESSION. Loretta Young has confessed that studio beauty experts made her what she is today. “For the first six months I was in pictures," she said, “I spent nearly all of my time in the beauty parlour while they decided how I ought to wear my hair, what colour of skin looked best on me and so on until' 1 ! thought they’d never finish. But finally they got what they wanted.” Loretta claims that any woman can be made to look attractive if she only has expert attention. She believes that the Government should spend a big chunk of money so that poor girls and women can receive the same beauty treatment as the rich. She says that women arc happy when they look at their best, and happy women make for a happy-nation. Maybe she’s right, but she’ll have a lot of trouble convincing the Government to set up beauty parlours.
